Geranium Bourbon essential oil is the most prized among all varieties of Geranium oils. It is renowned for its distinctive rose-like aroma combined with a gentle, spicy-peppery undertone. The scent carries pronounced green nuances, a soft earthy character, a slight creamy touch, and a faint metallic hint.

This essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and stems of the plant. Harvest season typically falls around February each year, after the blooming period ends. It takes about 200 kg of plant material and one to three days of continuous distillation to produce 1 kg of Geranium oil.

Often called the rose scent for men, Geranium’s rose facet is strong, fresh, and vibrant—different from the tender, romantic tone of traditional rose oils. In aromatherapy, Geranium is valued for its ability to relieve stress, depression, pain, and inflammation, as well as its antibacterial and acne-fighting properties.
