Applications
Methylheptenone (CAS 110-93-0) is primarily employed as a fragrance ingredient and as a synthetic intermediate. In perfumery it contributes green-fresh odour notes and serves as a building block for the creation of complex fragrance compounds. In cosmetics and personal care, as well as in household products, it is used as an odorant to impart or enhance scent in formulations such as lotions, soaps, cleaners and air fresheners. In industrial manufacturing it functions as an intermediate for the synthesis of fragrance chemicals and other specialty compounds. It may also be used as a scent additive in coatings/inks formulations to provide aroma. All uses are subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
