    trans-Cinnamaldehyde (CAS 14371-10-9) is a naturally occurring cinnamon-flavored aldehyde widely employed as a flavoring agent in candies, beverages, chewing gum and tobacco; as a fragrance and fixative in perfumes, soaps and cosmetics; as an antimicrobial and antifungal preservative in foods, coatings, bio-based packaging and nutraceuticals; as an insecticidal and larvicidal compound for mosquito control and crop protection; as a versatile intermediate for drug synthesis, functional polymers and chromatographic stationary phases; and as a metal corrosion inhibitor, microencapsulated aroma carrier, deodorizing additive and excipient for controlled-release pharmaceutical systems.
