Applications
Sabinyl acetate (CAS 3536-54-7) is a monoterpene acetate with a fresh green, herbaceous–pine, slightly camphoraceous woody odor, used primarily in perfumery to build, reinforce and round coniferous, herbal and fougère accords in fine fragrances, soaps, detergents, personal care, air care and candles; at trace levels it may also be employed in selected flavor applications to impart juniper/gin, sage-like and citrus-peel nuances and to lift freshness; it blends well with lavender, rosemary, citrus materials, eucalyptol and other terpenic ingredients, providing good diffusion and background odor masking; additionally, sabinyl acetate is used as an intermediate/reference material in essential-oil research, GC/MS method development and aroma design, with use subject to IFRA guidance and applicable flavor and fragrance regulations.
