    Cis-Jasmone (CAS 488-10-8) is a sweet-jasmine-scented monoterpenoid widely used in the fragrance industry to enrich the heart notes of fine perfumes, adjust the flavour profile of tea, coffee, chewing gum and beverages, and enhance the natural aroma of skin- and hair-care cosmetics; in agriculture it functions as a semiochemical that triggers plant defence pathways, attracts pollinators while repelling herbivores, and is exploited in integrated pest-management programmes, pheromone traps and stored-grain protection; additionally, cis-Jasmone is a key intermediate for synthesising jasmonate derivatives in plant-physiology research, for probing insect olfactory responses and for developing biosensors based on odorant receptors.
