  • Applications

Ethyl laurate (CAS 106-33-2) is the ethyl ester of lauric acid and ethanol, widely used as a medium-polarity solvent in eco-friendly paints, inks and cleaners; a fruity-coconut flavor and fragrance carrier in foods, beverages and tobacco; a biobased plasticizer and lubricant additive for PVC, EPDM, silicone rubber, low-ash engine oils and food-grade greases; an emollient, viscosity-modifying and penetration-enhancing ingredient in cosmetics, sunscreens, shampoos and sensitive-skin care; a solubilizer and bioavailability enhancer for oral and injectable nano-emulsions in drug delivery; a carrier solvent for pesticides and plant growth regulators; an intermediate for non-ionic surfactants, C12 biodiesel and sugar esters; additionally, it lowers surface tension, deodorizes and acts as an antibubble agent in extraction, food processing and paper manufacturing.
