Applications
beta-Bisabolol (CAS 15352-77-9) is a sesquiterpene alcohol widely used in cosmetics, dermocosmetics, and perfumery for its soothing, anti-irritant, redness-reducing, and mild antimicrobial/antioxidant benefits; it is commonly incorporated into barrier-repair creams and serums, gentle cleansers, baby care, after-sun, deodorants, and scalp-care products to enhance comfort and reduce stinging, and into toothpastes and mouthwashes to calm gingival tissues; in fragrances and fragranced goods it adds a soft sweet–herbal nuance and serves as a fixative that smooths the olfactive profile, while potentially enhancing percutaneous delivery of actives such as panthenol, niacinamide, or retinoids to optimize formulation performance; from a formulation standpoint it is oil-soluble, stable across typical cosmetic pH, and used at about 0.05–1.0%, aligning with clean/sustainable sourcing when produced from natural or synthetic routes, and compliant with contemporary safety guidelines when used at appropriate levels.
