  • Applications

Tridecanal (CAS 10486-19-8) is a linear C13 fatty aldehyde used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes, detergents and personal care for aldehydic–citrus, slightly waxy, soapy-clean notes, and as a versatile intermediate in organic synthesis—hydrogenation to tridecanol, oxidation to tridecanoic acid, and conversion to acetals, oximes/Schiff bases and esters that feed surfactants, lubricants, plasticizers and coating additives; it is also employed as a GC/aroma reference standard, a surface-modifying building block in materials, and an aldehydic base note/top-note enhancer in citrus, ozonic, green and soapy accords requiring improved odor stability.
