    Axit myristic (C14H28O2, còn gọi là axit tetradecanoic, số CAS 544-63-8) là một acid béo bão hòa chuỗi trung bình được sử dụng rộng rãi trong mỹ phẩm và chăm sóc cá nhân như chất hoạt động bề mặt, chất làm đặc, chất tạo nhũ và ổn định xà phòng, kem cạo râu; trong công nghiệp thực phẩm như phụ gia tạo hương, chất làm cứng và chất mang hương liệu; trong dược phẩm làm tá dược, thành phần liposome, hệ dẫn thuốc, vi nang; trong sản xuất chất bôi trơn, dầu thủy lực sinh học, este tổng hợp, sáp nến, chất chống gỉ và phụ gia kim loại; trong nông nghiệp làm dung môi, chất nhũ hóa, chất tăng bám dính; đồng thời là chất chuẩn phân tích, nguyên liệu tổng hợp este myristate cho nước hoa, hương liệu, nhựa, cao su và công cụ nghiên cứu sinh hóa quá trình myristoyl hoá protein.
