  • Applications

Isobutyl isobutyrate (CAS 97-85-8) is a medium-boiling fruity ester employed as an efficient solvent for automotive and wood coatings, inks, varnishes, adhesives, nail polish and industrial cleaners; it also functions as a flavour and fragrance ingredient delivering subtle banana-pineapple notes to beverages, confectionery, dairy products and tobacco, and is used as a diluent for unsaturated polyester resins, a plasticizer component, an extraction agent for pharmaceutical and agrochemical processes, and a versatile intermediate in fine-chemical synthesis.
