    Cubenol (CAS 21284-22-0) là một sesquiterpen alcohol có mùi gỗ, balsamic, hơi cay thảo mộc, được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong hương liệu và nghiên cứu: trong nước hoa và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân nó được dùng như chất tạo sắc thái gỗ-đất và làm chất giữ mùi tự nhiên nhờ độ bay hơi chậm; trong hương gia dụng (nến, xịt phòng, chất tẩy rửa) giúp tăng chiều sâu, che mùi nền và cải thiện cảm nhận “tự nhiên” của công thức; trong thực phẩm và đồ uống hương vị, các mức vi lượng góp nét cay ấm bổ trợ cho gia vị và khói; trong liệu pháp mùi hương, mùi gỗ ấm được ưa chuộng cho các phối hương thư giãn (không thay thế điều trị y khoa); trong khoa học, nó là chất chỉ thị/chuẩn GC–MS khi phân tích tinh dầu (ví dụ từ cubeb và patchouli), đồng thời là đối tượng nghiên cứu hoạt tính kháng vi sinh, khử mùi và xua côn trùng của hỗn hợp tinh dầu thiên nhiên.
