Weeping Cypress aka. Cedarwood China Essential Oil
Couldn't load pickup availability
Ngoc Am Wood Essential Oil, also known as Weeping Cypress or Chinese Cedarwood, is a precious woody essential oil distilled from the wood, branches, or wood chips of Weeping Cypress trees grown in the mountainous regions of Northern Vietnam and China. This wood has long been valued for its dense texture, long-lasting aroma, and natural resistance to termites and insects.
Weeping Cypress Essential Oil has a dry, warm, slightly smoky woody scent, with a classic dusty nuance and the distinctive aromatic character of the Cypress family. Its deep, dark, and long-lasting aroma makes it ideal for building a rich woody base, especially in creations with masculine, meditative, Asian-inspired, incense, or woody oriental styles.

Blending
Weeping Cypress Essential Oil has a dry, warm, and deep woody profile, with a slightly smoky, dusty, and vintage feel. Compared with other types of Cedarwood, Cedarwood China is darker, deeper, and has a more pronounced aged-wood character. Its base carries the distinctive scent profile of the Cypress family. In perfumery, Weeping Cypress creates a calm, masculine, profound, and Asian-inspired depth.
Weeping Cypress helps improve longevity while adding a dry and deeper woody note. It pairs very well with woody materials such as Cedarwood, Sandalwood, and Oud, or resinous notes such as Frankincense and Benzoin to create an Asian-inspired impression. To soften the dry and smoky character of Weeping Cypress, it can be blended with Rose, Jasmine, Osmanthus, Ylang-ylang, and other floral notes.
Aromatherapy
In aromatherapy, the scent of Weeping Cypress is often used to create a calm, relaxing, and pleasant atmosphere. When diffused at a suitable concentration, its warm woody and slightly pine-like facets help bring a cleaner, airier, and more balanced feeling to the space.
Thanks to its natural cedrol content, Weeping Cypress Essential Oil may also offer soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used as part of a blend for massage products.
