It is a classic ingredient in perfumery, forming the core of the warmth and depth found in Amber, Chypre, Leather, Incense, Tobacco, and Oriental fragrance compositions.

The absolute is refined from the dark, aromatic resin secreted on the surface of the plant's leaves and young branches during the intense heat of summer. Labdanum Absolute has a warm, balsamic aroma with pronounced resinous and dried herbal nuances. As the scent develops, deeper notes of honey, wood, smoke, and leather emerge.
