    Geranyl butyrate (CAS 106-29-6) is a naturally occurring fruity ester with a soft peach-pear nuance, therefore widely employed as a fragrance ingredient in fine perfumes, personal-care formulations (creams, shampoos, shower gels), reed diffusers and scented candles; in the food industry it acts as a flavor additive for carbonated beverages, juices, chewy candies, biscuits, yogurts and chewing gum, also restoring sweetness perception in reduced-sugar products; the compound further finds use in e-liquids, color-diluting solvents, palatability enhancers for animal feed, serves as a versatile terpene intermediate for functional molecule synthesis, and is being investigated as a bio-attractant lure in integrated pest management against fruit flies in sustainable agriculture.
