Applications
δ-Decalactone (CAS 705-86-2) is a naturally occurring flavor molecule with a creamy, peach-coconut note, widely employed in the food industry to impart richness to yogurts, ice creams, chocolates, candies, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, fruit blends, baked goods and dairy substitutes; in cosmetics and personal care it lends a soft, buttery nuance to creams, shampoos, shower gels and lipsticks; in perfumery it acts as a fruity, milky facet in gourmand and tropical accords and deepens floral bouquets; δ-Decalactone is also found in e-liquids, fish baits, pet flavors and fragranced cleaners, and is used as an analytical standard in plant research and food quality control, meeting safety guidelines from FEMA, IFRA, EU and JECFA.
