  • Applications

    Cedrol (CAS 77-53-2) is a natural sesquiterpene alcohol derived from cedarwood oil and is widely used in perfumery as a fragrance ingredient and fixative to extend the scent. It is also used in cosmetics and personal care to impart woody notes, and in household products such as air fresheners and laundry products to deliver a cedar-like aroma. In industrial fragrance chemistry and product formulation, cedrol is often treated as an intermediate or building block for the synthesis of aroma compounds; in coatings and inks it may be incorporated as a fragrance additive to provide a cedar note.
