  • Applications

Bisabolol oxide A (CAS 22567-36-8) is a chamomile-derived sesquiterpene widely used in personal care and topical products for its soothing, anti-irritant and mild antimicrobial benefits: it helps reduce redness and stinging in sensitive-skin creams, after-sun and post-shave care, baby care and lip care; supports odor control in deodorants by suppressing odor-causing bacteria; improves sensorials and mitigates sting in formulas with AHAs/BHAs, retinoids, surfactants or hair dyes; applied in scalp care and shampoos to calm the scalp, and as an excipient in dermatological creams to support local soothing; incorporated into toothpastes and mouthwashes to comfort gums and contribute to fresher breath; also functions as a fragrance ingredient with a sweet chamomile nuance and as a mild fixative; its oil solubility and light/heat stability facilitate incorporation into emulsions, oils and anhydrous serums at low use levels, compatible with sunscreen filters, panthenol and allantoin; generally well tolerated at cosmetic concentrations, though those sensitive to Asteraceae plants should exercise caution; available from natural or synthetic sources for consistent quality.
