    1-Methyl-4-(1-methylvinyl)cyclohexan-1-ol (CAS 138-87-4), a monoterpenoid alcohol in the terpineol family, is widely used as a fragrance ingredient with a clean lilac/flowery note in perfumes, soaps, detergents, deodorants, and personal care; as a trace flavor in foods and beverages; as a medium-volatility, green solvent/coalescent for paints, inks, varnishes, and adhesives, notably as a carrier and viscosity modifier in ceramic and electronic screen-printing pastes; as an intermediate to make terpinyl esters (e.g., terpinyl acetate) and other terpene derivatives; as an adjuvant and penetration enhancer in agrochemical formulations; as a frother/collector in mineral froth flotation (similar to refined pine oil); and as a component of industrial cleaners, degreasers, and odor-masking blends; it is also studied and leveraged for antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, insect-repellent, and skin-permeation-enhancing properties in pharma-cosmetic and household hygiene applications, while being biodegradable and managed under established safety frameworks such as IFRA within recommended use levels.
