    Pinocamphone (CAS 547-60-4) là một monoterpen keton tự nhiên hiện diện trong tinh dầu Hyssopus officinalis (hyssop) và một số loài họ Lamiaceae; trong nghiên cứu và công nghiệp, hợp chất này được dùng làm chất chuẩn/chuẩn đối chiếu GC–MS để định danh, định lượng và kiểm soát chất lượng tinh dầu, làm chỉ thị hóa học (chemotaxonomic marker) và tiêu chí xác thực; được khảo sát trong R&D hương liệu–mỹ phẩm và phối hương với sắc thái camphoraceous, thảo mộc, dù ứng dụng thương mại bị hạn chế nghiêm ngặt do độc tính thần kinh gây co giật (đối kháng thụ thể GABA_A); trong khoa học sự sống, pinocamphone là chất mô hình nghiên cứu cơ chế co giật do monoterpen keton và tương tác thần kinh–hóa; ngoài ra, các báo cáo về hoạt tính kháng vi sinh vật, xua đuổi/diệt côn trùng và ve mạt gợi ý tiềm năng làm phụ gia bảo quản sinh học hoặc chế phẩm bảo vệ thực vật có nguồn gốc tự nhiên, nhưng mọi ứng dụng cần đánh giá an toàn, kiểm soát liều và tuân thủ quy định (ví dụ IFRA/REACH và giới hạn trong thực phẩm, tinh dầu, liệu pháp mùi); không phải dược chất đã được phê duyệt.
