    Isoamyl isovalerate (CAS 659-70-1) là một este mùi trái cây tự nhiên được ưa chuộng trong ngành hương liệu – thực phẩm vì hương chuối, táo và lê chín đặc trưng; chất này thường được bổ sung vào đồ uống có ga, nước ép, rượu vang, kẹo, bánh nướng, kem, kẹo cao su, sữa chua, phụ gia thuốc lá để tăng độ ngọt thơm, đồng thời xuất hiện trong công thức nước hoa, xịt phòng, nến thơm, mỹ phẩm và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân để tạo cảm giác tươi mát nhiệt đới; trong dược phẩm và sản phẩm dinh dưỡng lỏng, nó giúp che giấu mùi vị khó chịu của hoạt chất; các phòng thí nghiệm dùng hợp chất này như chất chuẩn GC/MS để định tính, làm chất mang mùi cho nghiên cứu cảm quan, hoặc phối hợp với mồi lên men nhằm thu hút côn trùng trong công nghệ bẫy sinh học; ngoài ra còn được dùng như dung môi hương thực vật, chất trung gian tổng hợp este phức tạp, và thành phần trong dầu thơm chiết xuất tự nhiên.
