Rosacetol, also known as Rose Acetate or Rose Crystals, is a synthetic rose ester that comes in the form of white or transparent crystals, CAS# 90-17-5. It offers an intense rose character that is sweet, powdery and slightly balsamic, with a very gentle green nuance and a creamy–waxy cosmetic facet that recalls classic rose notes in face powder and traditional beauty products.

On skin and on blotter, Rosacetol delivers a deep, long-lasting rose impression. Its impact is soft rather than aggressive, but its substantivity is excellent, making it a highly effective fixative for rose accords and floral compositions. It works particularly well in rose, geranium, lily of the valley, lilac, hyacinth and other classical floral bouquets. When combined with phenylethyl alcohol, rose absolute or rose oxide, Rosacetol rounds out the body of the accord, enhancing naturalness, powdery smoothness and diffusion without pushing the fragrance into a harsh or sharp direction.

Rosacetol is especially suitable for applications that require good stability and long-lasting performance, such as bar soaps, shower gels, laundry detergents, fabric softeners and household cleaners with floral profiles. It also performs very well in scented candles, room sprays, reed diffusers and fine fragrances built around classic rose or powdery–floral themes. The material is readily soluble in alcohol and common perfumery solvents and oils, with limited solubility in water, and is generally recommended at low dosage levels to highlight and fix the rose note.

With a melting point in the range of 86–89 °C, Rosacetol is a stable, easy-to-handle aromatic ingredient when stored in tightly closed packaging, away from direct light in a cool, dry place. It is a valuable choice for perfumers seeking to add depth, powdery softness and lasting power to creations centered on rose and vintage-inspired cosmetic accords.
