As a hybrid of two lavender types-True Lavender and Spike Lavender-Lavandin Grosso has a familiar lavender scent, but with a stronger, cooler, and sharper character. This variety is widely cultivated in France and across Mediterranean regions. Because it offers a higher distillation yield than most standard lavender varieties, Lavandin Grosso has become the most commonly grown type. Its harvest season runs from July to August each year.

Lavandin Grosso essential oil has a cool, herbaceous aroma with a clearly recognizable lavender note, accompanied by a green, camphoraceous freshness. This character appears mainly in the top note. As the green, cooling aspect fades, the scent becomes more floral and gradually dries down into a hay-like tone. SCENT’s Lavandin Grosso essential oil is also certified organic, making it well suited for aromatherapy-focused essential oil applications.

Manufactured in France

France is renowned for its rich history, culture, and art, but it is also a key player in the world of essential oils. Provence, a region in southern France, is famous for its vast lavender fields and is a hub for essential oil production. French essential oils like lavender, rosemary, and thyme are prized for their purity and therapeutic qualities. These oils are commonly used in aromatherapy, perfumes, and cosmetics, playing a significant role in both traditional and modern wellness practices.

Blending

Compared with standard lavender oils, Lavandin Grosso has a cooler, greener, stronger, and sharper scent profile. In perfumery, it is an important material for recreating lavender, fougère, and cologne structures. With its reasonable cost and strong aroma, Lavandin Grosso essential oil is also widely used in deodorizing products, soap, home care products, and more.

This scent blends easily with other citrus notes such as bergamot and lemon. It also pairs very well with other herbal materials such as clary sage, rosemary, and thyme. Lavandin creates the clean, dry, aromatic, and masculine effect that is characteristic of classic fougère structures.

Aromatherapy

Lavandin Grosso essential oil may help reduce tension and support relaxation. Its aroma is often diffused into the air to help soothe emotions and create a sense of comfort and ease. For that reason, it is commonly used in supportive practices aimed at reducing stress or stabilizing mood.

In traditional aromatherapy, Lavandin Grosso is also used by inhalation or diffusion to help support respiratory concerns such as colds, nasal congestion, or sinus discomfort. It is also used in massage applications to help relieve muscle pain, joint stiffness, and muscle tension. Some aromatherapy references also mention the use of Lavandin for headaches, nervous system relaxation, and sleep support. However, because its scent is usually stronger, sharper, and fresher than standard lavender, it is sometimes less preferred.

Use only under the guidance of a doctor and aromatherapy specialists.
