Cedryl Acetate (CAS No. 77-54-3) is a modern woody note with a dry, clean, and warm profile reminiscent of finely sanded cedar. It opens soft with a light balsamic, slightly sweet nuance, then shifts into airy dry woods with hints of vetiver and patchouli, leaving a smooth, long-lasting, very clean trail on skin and on porous substrates.

In composition, Cedryl Acetate deepens woody bases, adds structure and polish, and serves as a light fixative to extend the diffusion of floral, amber, fougère, chypre, and oriental accords. Owing to its substantivity and stability, it performs reliably in alcoholic fragrances, soaps, fragranced cleaners, scented candles, and reed diffusers, helping to mask terpenic off-notes and round the overall accord.

Its consistent, easy-to-control profile enables a contemporary “clean woods” effect-low harshness, non-smoky, and non-resinous-suited to both minimalist designs and richer amber foundations. When added to cedar or sandalwood reconstitutions, or when you need a fine dry-wood halo around a white floral theme, it is a dependable choice.

Material is typically supplied as crystals or as a pale-yellow viscous liquid, depending on the batch; it dissolves well in ethanol and common fragrance solvents. If crystallized, gentle warming will liquefy it prior to weighing and blending. Cedryl Acetate shows high compatibility with most natural and synthetic woody–amber–musk materials, helping formulas achieve balance, cleanliness, and long wear.
