    DL-Menthyl acetate (CAS 16409-45-3) is a minty, cooling ester broadly used in flavour and fragrance industries to provide long-lasting freshness to confectionery, chewing gum, chocolates, carbonated and alcoholic beverages; in cosmetics and personal care products to deliver deodorising, invigorating sensations in toothpastes, mouthwashes, lip balms, after-shave lotions, shampoos and body washes; in pharmaceuticals as a sensate excipient in cough syrups, lozenges, topical analgesic gels and nasal preparations; in e-cigarette and smokeless tobacco blends to improve palatability; and in household fragrances, scented candles and aromatherapy compositions to create a relaxing atmosphere, relieve nausea and motion sickness, help repel insects and generally enhance the overall sensory appeal of consumer goods.
