Applications
(3Z)-Hexenyl valerate (CAS 35852-46-1) is a green–fruity ester widely used across fragrance and flavor applications: in fine fragrances, soaps, shampoos, detergents, air care and candles to impart fresh leafy and cut-grass facets with crisp apple–pear hints and light banana–pineapple tones, boosting diffusion and naturalness in top-to-heart notes; in flavors for beverages, confectionery, chewing gum, dairy and baked goods it is dosed at trace-to-low levels to freshen, round and extend apple, pear, strawberry, pineapple, melon and tea profiles while masking fatty or sulfur notes; it blends well with cis-3-hexenol/acetate/butyrate, citral, linalool and citrus materials for a clean green lift, but like other esters it can hydrolyze under strong acidic/alkaline conditions, so store cool, dark and sealed and use within applicable IFRA and food regulations.
