Applications
(3Z)-Hexenyl tiglate (CAS 67883-79-8) is used as a fragrance/flavor ingredient that imparts fresh green-leafy, fruity, and slightly herbal–spicy nuances, brightening top notes and enriching heart notes in fine fragrance, air care, candles, detergents, and fabric care; in food flavoring it supports apple–pear, pineapple, melon, green tea, mint, and freshly cut grass profiles at very low levels to enhance crisp freshness without overpowering, and it serves as a reference/internal standard in GC–MS profiling of plant volatiles and in sensory/olfactory studies of green leaf volatiles, as well as an odorant model in bioassays; being an ester it tends to hydrolyze under alkaline conditions and may oxidize, so it is typically stored tightly closed, dry, protected from light at cool temperature, with use governed by relevant safety and regulatory guidance (e.g., IFRA for perfumery and local food-flavor regulations).
