Applications
Gamma-Terpineol (CAS 586-81-2) is a monoterpenoid alcohol with a soft lilac, woody–resinous note, widely used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes, soaps, detergents, air-care and deodorizing products; as a low-level flavoring for beverages, confectionery, chewing gum and baked goods; as a solvent/cosolvent and coupling agent for essential oils, resins and oils in household cleaners, polishes and printing inks; as an intermediate to produce aroma esters (e.g., terpinyl acetate) and other terpene derivatives for fragrance materials; to contribute mild antibacterial/antifungal effects supporting deodorizing and hygiene formulations; as an additive in cosmetics and personal care (shampoos, body washes, creams) to adjust scent and mask base odors; and in agrochemical formulations as a carrier solvent, wetting/penetration aid and pheromone carrier, with use levels determined by application and relevant industry guidelines.
