    (E)-Jasmone (CAS 6261-18-3) is widely used as a jasmine/tea/green-fruity fragrance ingredient in fine fragrances, cosmetics, candles, detergents and air-care products, adding leafy-floral lift to white-flower, citrus and tea accords; at trace levels it is also employed as a flavoring component in beverages, confectionery and tea-type flavors in industry practice; in agriculture it functions as a plant–insect semiochemical that can prime plant defenses and modulate insect behavior, helping deter aphids while attracting natural enemies/parasitoids, thereby supporting integrated pest management and reducing reliance on conventional insecticides; in research it serves as a probe for jasmonate signaling, as an inducer/primer of herbivore-induced plant volatiles, and as a reference standard in GC-MS studies of plant VOCs; for formulation it dissolves well in alcohols and oils, blends synergistically with indole, hedione, ionones and linalool, but is sensitive to oxidation and light, so closed, cool, dark storage is recommended.
