Applications
Amyl Salicylate (CAS 2050-08-0) is a floral, sweet, green, slightly herbaceous ester with a soft balsamic nuance, widely used in perfumery as a modifier and fixative to add depth, diffusion and longevity to fine fragrances and functional scents, especially in jasmine/ylang-ylang/muguet, clover and green-fruity accords; it also acts as a solvent/coupler and rounder to mask harsh notes in soaps, shampoos, laundry detergents, household cleaners, deodorants, cosmetics, candles and air care; the material has medium volatility, good heat stability and moderate fabric substantivity, blending well with linalool, benzyl acetate, ionones and floral aldehydes; typical use levels range from traces to a few percent depending on the base, with adherence to IFRA standards and applicable safety and labeling regulations.
