  • Applications

Alpha-Atlantone (CAS 26294-59-7) is a sesquiterpene ketone with a warm woody, amber-balsamic odor profile, valued in perfumery to build woody–amber accords and as a long-lasting fixative in fine fragrances, cosmetics, personal care, household detergents, and air care; it is also employed as a modifier to round and deepen accords and to mask technical base odors in challenging matrices (e.g., surfactant-rich systems), in encapsulation/controlled-release delivery to improve substantivity, as a marker for evaluation and standardization of Atlas cedarwood oil, and as a GC/MS reference standard for method development and quality control, with use subject to current IFRA guidance and chemical safety regulations.
