  • Applications

This “green leaf” ester is widely used across fragrance–personal care and flavor applications: as a perfumery top-note and modifier to deliver freshly cut grass/leaf nuances, brighten floral–citrus–ozonic accords, and reinforce crisp apple, pear, melon, cucumber, and herbal facets; in functional fragrances for soaps, shampoos, shower gels, dish liquids, detergents, fabric softeners, air care and candles to mask technical off-odors and impart a clean–fresh impression; as a low-dosage flavoring in alcoholic and soft drinks, syrups, confectionery, chewing gum, yogurt, preserves, and baked goods to add green, fresh, fruity and herbal notes; and as an intermediate for synthesis/transesterification, in encapsulation for controlled aroma release, as a GC/GC–olfactometry reference for green leaf volatiles, a substrate in esterase assays, and in studies of plant volatile signaling and sensory evaluation.
