    1,6,10-Dodecatrien-3-ol, 3,7,11-trimethyl-, [S-(Z)]- (a specific stereoisomer of nerolidol; CAS 3790-78-1) is used mainly as a fragrance and aroma modulator with floral–woody–fruity notes in fine fragrances, cosmetics, shampoos, soaps and cleaners; as a scent for air-care and candles; as a skin-penetration enhancer in topical drug and cosmetic formulations; as a lipophilic solvent/fragrance carrier; as an intermediate in terpene chemistry and a starting material for aroma derivatives; and as an agricultural adjuvant to improve foliar and cuticular penetration, with additional investigation as a selective insect repellent/attractant and for antimicrobial, antifungal and antiprotozoal potential—applications where the [S-(Z)] isomer helps fine-tune odor character and meet stereochemical requirements for biological activity.
