  • Ứng dụng

    Acid isovaleric (3-methylbutanoic, CAS 503-74-2) là một axit béo mạch ngắn có mùi hăng đặc trưng của pho mát chín và mồ hôi chân, được ứng dụng rộng rãi từ thực phẩm, hương liệu đến hóa dược: nó được este hoá để tạo ra các hương táo, dâu, mật ong dùng trong kẹo, nước giải khát và thuốc lá; được thêm trực tiếp ở hàm lượng vết như một chất tăng cường mùi trong phô mai, bơ, sữa chua; làm nguyên liệu trung gian tổng hợp các este thơm, phụ gia thức ăn chăn nuôi giúp kích thích sự thèm ăn ở thuỷ sản; là chất gốc để sản xuất thuốc an thần, thuốc chống co giật, thuốc trừ sâu gốc pyrethroid, nhựa alkyd, chất bôi trơn và plastic hoá; trong phòng thí nghiệm nó được dùng như chuẩn phân tích, mẫu chuẩn GC/MS và chất ức chế vi sinh nhằm mô phỏng môi trường axit hữu cơ, đồng thời các ester isovalerat của nó là chất đánh dấu mùi trong nghiên cứu sinh thái học côn trùng.
