    Hexahydrofarnesylacetone (CAS 502-69-2) là một keton isoprenoid được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm thành phần hương trong nước hoa, mỹ phẩm và sản phẩm chăm sóc gia đình, nơi nó hoạt động như chất cố định và “blender” giúp kéo dài độ lưu hương, làm tròn, làm dịu các nốt gắt trong công thức tẩy rửa, và hòa hợp tốt với nhóm hương cam chanh, gỗ, hoa và hổ phách; trong công nghiệp hương liệu–thực phẩm, hợp chất này còn được dùng ở nồng độ vết như chất tạo hương bổ trợ cho đồ uống, bánh kẹo và sản phẩm lên men để bổ sung sắc thái xanh–thảo mộc, hơi trái cây và ấm áp có nguồn gốc tự nhiên; trong nghiên cứu và kiểm nghiệm, nó thường làm chất chuẩn tham chiếu/đối chiếu trong GC–MS để nhận diện thành phần dễ bay hơi từ thực vật và tinh dầu, cũng như là khối xây dựng hữu ích trong tổng hợp các dẫn xuất isoprenoid; đặc tính bay hơi thấp, ổn định trong nền dầu và khả năng tương thích cao khiến nó phù hợp cho vi bao hương, nước xả vải, xà phòng, nến và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, với lưu ý sử dụng ở liều thấp theo hướng dẫn an toàn và quy chuẩn hương liệu hiện hành.
