    Ethyl hexanoate (CAS 123-66-0) là este hương trái cây được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm chất tạo mùi trong nước giải khát, rượu vang, bia, bánh kẹo, sữa chua, kem, kẹo cao su; là thành phần hương thơm trong nước hoa, xà phòng và mỹ phẩm cá nhân nhờ mùi táo-chuối dịu; đồng thời đóng vai trò dung môi bay hơi trung bình cho mực in, sơn phủ, chất kết dính, chất hóa mềm cho polymer, chất chuẩn phân tích trong nghiên cứu hương vị và lên men, chất đánh dấu sinh học để giám sát quá trình ủ bia – rượu, và tiền chất tổng hợp hữu cơ, nhờ độc tính thấp, mùi dễ chịu và khả năng tương thích cao với nhiều ma trận thực phẩm cũng như công nghiệp.
