    cis-Dihydrocarvone (CAS 3792-53-8) là một monoterpen keton có mùi bạc hà–long não, thảo mộc và hơi gỗ, được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm thành phần hương liệu để tinh chỉnh nốt spearmint/menthol và tạo hiệu ứng mát trong nước hoa, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa và chế phẩm khử mùi không khí; trong lĩnh vực hương vị, hợp chất này thường được dùng ở liều rất thấp để tăng độ tươi mát của bạc hà trong kẹo cao su, bánh kẹo, sản phẩm chăm sóc răng miệng và một số đồ uống; trong hóa học tổng hợp, cis-dihydrocarvone đóng vai trò là nguyên liệu trung gian thuộc “chiral pool” thuận tiện để xây dựng khung p-menthane, từ đó tiếp cận các cấu trúc liên quan như menthone và các dẫn xuất menthol, cũng như làm chất xuất phát trong tổng hợp một số pheromone côn trùng, hương–vị chuyên biệt và tiền chất dược; ngoài ra, nó còn được dùng như chất chuẩn mùi và chuẩn phân tích trong GC–MS/GC–O, chất nền cho nghiên cứu xúc tác bất đối xứng và mô hình trong các nghiên cứu cơ chế chuyển hóa keton terpene.
