    2-Cyclohexen-1-ol, 3-methyl-6-(1-methylethyl)-, (1R,6R)-rel- (CAS 16721-39-4) là một ancol terpen thuộc họ p-menthenol, được sử dụng chủ yếu như thành phần và tiền chất trong ngành hương liệu – mỹ phẩm nhờ sắc thái mùi terpenic tươi mát, thảo mộc và hơi gỗ, giúp làm tròn và nâng độ khuếch tán cho nước hoa, chất tẩy rửa, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân và chất tạo hương kỹ thuật; dưới dạng este hoặc hỗn hợp, nó cũng được ứng dụng làm chất điều biến hương trong thực phẩm và đồ uống theo giới hạn quy định; trong tổng hợp hữu cơ, hợp chất này là khối xây dựng thuận tiện để tạo menthone/menthol, carveol/carvone và các dẫn xuất p‑menthane khác thông qua phản ứng oxy hóa, hydrogen hóa, este hóa hoặc chuyển vị, vì vậy thường được dùng làm trung gian cho dược phẩm, hoạt chất hương – vị, phụ gia tiêu dùng và nghiên cứu về xúc tác bất đối xứng, oxy hóa allylic và điều khiển mùi theo cấu hình lập thể; ngoài ra, đặc tính bay hơi vừa phải và độ tương hợp tốt với nhựa, chất hoạt động bề mặt và hệ vi nang giúp nó phù hợp cho hệ phân phối hương bền mùi và công thức tẩy rửa hiệu suất cao.
