Applications
Ylangenol (CAS 41610-69-9) is an aromatic sesquiterpene alcohol with a creamy ylang-ylang floral profile, soft woody facets and good substantivity, used mainly as a fragrance ingredient in fine fragrances, cosmetics, personal care, soaps, detergents, candles and air-care; in formulation it is typically placed in the heart-to-base to round compositions, boost diffusion, provide fixative support, enhance white-floral/Oriental/woody-amber accords and mask base odors in functional products, and it is also applied in R&D as a reference/analyte for GC–MS, for odor-threshold and stability studies, and for solvent-system screening (aqueous/hydroalcoholic), with dosage tailored to matrix compatibility and in compliance with safety guidance (e.g., IFRA) and local labeling regulations.
