  • Applications

Vinyl propanoate is commonly used as a monomer to synthesize poly(vinyl propanoate) and vinyl ester copolymers, forming resins for coatings, waterborne paints, and adhesives. Through radical polymerization it enables the production of durable films with good adhesion and chemical resistance, suitable for waterborne coatings and paint systems. It is used as an ingredient in vinyl ester–based adhesive formulations to improve bonding performance and weatherability. In electronics, vinyl ester resins may be considered for specialty dielectric coatings or encapsulation materials. Additionally, it can serve as an intermediate in the synthesis of specialty chemicals and formulated resins. Its use is subject to local regulations and formulation limits. CAS 105-38-4.
