Applications
Vinyl isobutyl ether (CAS 109-53-5) is used primarily as a reactive monomer and as a reactive diluent in cationically polymerizable systems. In polymers and coatings chemistry, it is employed to prepare poly(vinyl ether) resins for coatings, sealants, and adhesives, and to adjust viscosity and reactivity in UV-curable formulations. It is commonly evaluated as an intermediate in organic synthesis for specialty monomers and functional materials. The compound may also be incorporated into adhesive and sealant formulations as a reactive component, and in industrial manufacturing it can participate in resin systems designed for high chemical resistance and flexibility.
