Applications
Tris(Tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) Citrate (CAS 220410-74-2) is a HALS-type light stabilizer supplied as a citrate salt to improve compatibility with polymer and coating formulations. In practice it is used to enhance long-term weathering resistance of plastics and composites by suppressing UV-induced degradation; common application areas include: polymers/plastics: HALS stabilizer for polyolefins, polyesters, and polycarbonates; coatings/inks: improved outdoor durability and color retention in paints and inks; adhesives: aging resistance in outdoor or structural adhesive formulations; electronics: stabilization of encapsulants and protective coatings for electronic devices; and waterborne or solvent-borne systems where the citrate salt improves dispersibility and processing.
