  • Applications

Trideca-5,8-dienal (CAS 60671-77-4) is an unsaturated linear aldehyde used primarily as a fragrance ingredient to impart crisp aldehydic, green, slightly fatty–marine and citrus-peel nuances, boosting top notes and diffusion in fine fragrances, personal care and household products; in flavor applications it is dosed at trace levels to evoke cucumber/green-leaf, tropical-fruit or seafood facets in soups, seasonings, beverages and snacks; it is also employed as a reference/marker in studies of lipid oxidation and natural aroma formation, and as a versatile synthetic intermediate for building polyenes, aroma derivatives and functional materials, leveraging its reactive aldehyde function and two modifiable double bonds.
