Applications
trans-Verbenyl acetate (CAS 1203-21-0) is a monoterpene acetate with a fresh pine, minty, slightly camphoraceous odor, used predominantly as a fragrance ingredient in fine fragrances and personal care (body sprays, shampoos, body washes, soaps, deodorants, aftershaves) as well as home and air care (detergents, fabric conditioners, cleaners, air/fabric fresheners, candles), where it delivers bright green top notes, lift, and diffusion to citrus–herbal accords and blends synergistically with other terpenes to build longer-lasting freshness; at very low levels it may also be used as a flavoring component to add herbaceous–conifer nuances to confectionery, chewing gum, beverages, and syrups (subject to local regulations); additionally it serves as a raw material/modifier in the synthesis of verbenol-derived aroma chemicals, as an analytical reference, and in research on encapsulation/delivery systems for controlled fragrance release, with adherence to safety guidance (e.g., IFRA) and applicable regulations.
