  • Applications

Titanium mononitride (CAS 25583-20-4) is a hard, refractory ceramic widely used as protective and functional coatings in industry. It is applied as wear- and corrosion-resistant coatings on cutting tools, molds, gears and bearings to extend tool life and reduce maintenance. In microelectronics and optoelectronics, TiN serves as a diffusion barrier and thin-film coating to improve hardness, electrical stability and thermal performance. It is also used as a decorative coating with a gold-like color on jewelry, watches and consumer surfaces. In high-temperature applications, TiN coatings provide oxidation resistance and can act as thermal barriers in demanding environments. All implementations depend on precise deposition methods and formulation, and should comply with relevant regulations.
