Applications
Thiazole (CAS 288-47-1) is a sulfur–nitrogen aromatic heterocycle with wide-ranging uses: a versatile intermediate in pharmaceuticals (synthesis of thiamine, sulfathiazole, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and kinase-inhibitor drugs), a precursor for crop-protection agents (insecticides, fungicides, plant growth regulators), a baked, coffee and caramel flavor component in food, a vulcanization accelerator and heat stabilizer in rubber, a functional monomer for enhancing the conductivity and photoluminescence of polymers, an optical brightener, a ligand in coordination chemistry and a photoinitiator for UV-curable materials; its facile ring substitution and aromatic stability make Thiazole an indispensable scaffold for conjugation chemistry, bio-sensing platforms and advanced material research.
