Applications
Terpene resin (CAS 9003-74-1) is a natural-derived resin primarily used as a tackifier in adhesives, including hot-melt and pressure-sensitive formulations, to boost tack and adhesion; it is also employed as a resin modifier in coatings and printing inks to improve bonding, hardness and gloss; in polymers and plastics it can act as a processing aid and help compatibility between terpene-rich components; in cosmetics and personal care as well as household products it may function as a fragrance fixative or texture-enhancing additive; and in rubber and elastomer formulations it is used as a tackifier/compatibilizer to improve processing and adhesion.
