  • Applications

Sulfanilic acid (CAS 121-57-3) is primarily used as an intermediate in the production of azo dyes and pigments for textiles, inks, and coatings. It also serves as a diazotization reagent in analytical chemistry for nitrite determination (Griess-type assays). In addition, Sulfanilic acid provides a building block to prepare sulfonated aromatic compounds used in surfactants, ion-exchange resins, and polymer additives, and it is a precursor for dye intermediates used in plastics and coatings.
