Applications
Stearic acid amide, CAS 124-26-5, is primarily used as a lubricating processing aid and slip agent in polymer and rubber compounding, reducing friction during processing and aiding mold release; it also serves as a mold-release additive for polyolefins and other resins, and as an anti-block and surface-finishing additive in coatings and plastic films to improve handling and appearance; in some formulations it functions as a wax-like additive in coatings and inks and as an intermediate or precursor in organic synthesis, subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
