Applications
Sorbitan, didodecanoate (CAS 28905-44-4) is a nonionic surfactant primarily used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in cosmetic and personal-care formulations, aiding oil–water blending in creams, lotions, and cleansing products. It also serves as a wetting and dispersing agent in household cleaning products and detergents, and acts as a processing aid and compatibilizer in polymer and plastics formulations. In coatings, paints and inks, it provides emulsification and improved wetting and flow. In agricultural formulations, it can function as a surfactant adjuvant to improve spread and coverage of active ingredients. In pharmaceutical formulations, it may be employed as an emulsifier/excipient in certain dosage forms. Use should be in accordance with local regulations and formulation limits.
