Applications
Sodium Sesquicarbonate (CAS 533-96-0) is widely used as a buffering agent and pH adjuster in detergents and cleaning formulations, and as a water-softening builder that enhances surfactant performance. It also serves as a source of carbonate and bicarbonate for industrial manufacturing and chemical synthesis, and may be employed in coatings and inks for pH control. In agriculture, it can be used as a soil amendment to adjust pH and supply sodium; in cosmetic and personal care formulations it may be evaluated as a buffering agent. Its use is formulation- and region-dependent.
